Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for playing detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. She is also known for her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. As the sole daughter of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a homemaker Delaney had a family of four brothers. As a young girl, she wanted to work as a reporter in the courtroom. In highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model for commercials and after moving New York. She was cast as a young innocent in 1981's soap opera All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years from the 1980s has appeared in several films TV movies and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't been a success and has not been happy. The talented actress was afflicted with addiction issues in the past and had two divorces. In 2005 she lost the custody of her only son.
